Organization History
The Injury Free Coalition for Kids (Injury Free) is a national organization consisting of 42 academic health centers in 40 cities across America. Injury Free leads and coordinates evidence-based injury prevention activities affecting millions of families and children in the US. The key ingredient to the Injury Free's success is fostering grassroots hospital-based prevention activities through community-based stakeholder development, market-driven communication techniques and comprehensive analysis that monitors the return on investment for these interventions. For over 15 years, the national office continues to operate in the department of epidemiology at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
Forging New Frontiers Conference History
Forging New Frontiers, the annual conference of Injury Free Coalition for Kids®, is the premier injury prevention meeting to foster collaborative research, develop best practices and address challenges in the field of injury prevention and epidemiology. The objectives of the 2010 Annual Conference are to provide participants with an opportunity to:
- Increase their knowledge and techniques through the sharing of injury prevention programmatic approaches, program and scientific abstracts, lectures, panel discussions, and workshops presented by leading experts in the field of injury prevention and epidemiology.
- Learn about designing, planning and building healthy communities.
The conference will be attended by physicians and community leaders from across the country.
