Obesity Prevention Program

Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Hartford

The Principal Investigator for the Kid Healthy program will be Dr. Leonard Banco. Dr. Banco is Vice President for Strategy/Regional Development at CCMC. Dr. Banco is a Professor of Pediatrics, University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the PI for the IFCK of Hartford.

The Co-Principal Investigator will be Claire K. Dalidowitz, MS, MA, RD, CD-N. Ms. Dalidowitz is the Clinical Nutrition Manager and Director of T.E.A.M. Club, an obesity program for children ages 6 to 9, at CCMC.

The Co-Principal Investigator will be Garry Lapidus, PA-C, MPH. Mr. Lapidus is the Director of the Injury Prevention CCMC. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Public Health at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He is the Co-PI for IFCK of Hartford.

Laura J. Morris, MPH, is the Program Coordinator for the Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Hartford (IFCK), a program of the Injury Prevention Center. Laura was a Research Assistant (10/02-6/05) for the Safe Transport for Children with Special Needs program at the Injury Prevention Center. Laura received her Masters in Public Health in May 2005 from Southern Connecticut State University. Other professional experience includes injury prevention research, education and training, community based programs, advocacy and public policy for children’s health care and disability rights.
