The mission of the Childhood Injury Prevention Center is to prevent childhood injuries in the Los Angeles area through: • the creation of safe play environments for children; • providing children with positive adult role models; • providing after school activities that keep children off the streets; • child and parent education; • community education.
All programs are designed to be family-centered, culturally sensitive, and community-based. Since its creation in 1996, the CIPC has brought together a diverse group of individuals and agencies serving the children of Los Angeles, California, to keep these children and their families safe.
