Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Atlanta of the Grady Health System is a proud national partner of the 2005 Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign. “With more than 8.4 million uninsured children in the United States, this effort to enroll eligible children in Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and inform parents about these available health care coverage programs and is more urgent than ever before,” said Ana Everett, MPA Injury Free Coalition for Kids Program Coordinator.
Covering Kids & Families has formed a partnership with Major League Soccer (MLS). MLS teams across the country will declare a game “Children’s Health Care Coverage Day,” and promote the 1(877) KIDS-NOW toll-free number on Jumbotrons and in programs and other materials distributed at the game.
In addition, thousands of outreach and enrollment events will be taking place in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, with more concentrated efforts in six major U.S. cities: Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Philadelphia.
