Cover the Uninsured Week will take place May 1-7, 2006! We encourage you to join the largest movement on behalf of uninsured Americans by becoming a national supporter of Cover the Uninsured Week 2006. With your help, past Cover the Uninsured Week efforts have been successful in raising awareness about this critical problem. This year we plan to mobilize thousands of individuals and organizations from all sectors of society to tell our nation's leaders that it’s time to put politics aside and take meaningful steps toward solutions. The campaign will also provide simple ways for everyone to get involved to help make health care coverage for all Americans a reality.

   1. Invitation to National Supporters You will soon receive a letter inviting your organization to participate as a Cover the Uninsured Week national supporter. We are also asking for your support of this summer’s Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign. If you’d like to confirm your participation in one or both campaigns today, complete the participation form at CoverTheUninsuredWeek.org/distribution/supporters/ and e-mail it to lisa.beck@gmmb.com or fax it to (202) 338-2334.

   2. It’s Easy to Get Involved! Here’s how to help this week: Tell your constituents about Cover the Uninsured Week 2006 plans at conferences and meetings. We have materials available for distribution at your conferences and meetings. Simply let us know how many copies you will need and we’ll send them to you free of charge!    3. National Organizational Summit In early March, we will be holding a national organizational summit for Cover the Uninsured Week national supporters. We hope you will join us to learn more about the plans for the Week as well as new and interesting ways for you and your members to get involved. More information about the summit will be sent to you once we receive your participation form.

   4. Cover the Uninsured Week Target Markets Organizers are being hired in selected cities to plan Cover the Uninsured Week events, and national campaign staff is on hand to assist individuals planning activities in other communities. Current Cover the Uninsured Week target markets include:

   Philadelphia
   Seattle
   West Palm Beach
