Stony Brook Children's Hospital partnered with Build-A-Bear and The Stony Brook Student Nurse Association to host a special event in honor of National Injury Prevention Day. This free community event offered families valuable injury prevention education, covering essential topics such as passenger safety, car seat safety, and helmet use. Children had the opportunity to learn about these safety measures in a fun, interactive way, and then apply their knowledge by caring for their own stuffed animals during the event’s hands-on clinic. The collaboration aimed to engage young participants and their families in important safety practices in a warm and playful environment. We saw over 50 families in the hour before the store opened.
