Program/Event Details:
We gave out 24 Home Safety Kits designed for kitchens to families whose children were admitted at Hasbro Children's Hospital. The kits contained locks for cabinet draws, cabinet doors, electrical outlet protectors, and safety knobs for gas ovens. Safety pamphlets on kitchen safety, and the dangers of carbon monoxide were also distributed. The children received a Sam the Safety Squirrel stuffed animal. All 24 families were entered into a raffle to win a battery powered carbon monoxide detector. Five carbon monoxide detectors were raffled off.
Myself and two of my staff, were joined by the Pediatric Trauma Coordinator at Hasbro Children's Hospital in passing out the kits. 24 safety kits, and 5 carbon monoxide detectors (raffle) were passed out.
