Home safety kits will be distributed to families who have young children present in Hasbro Children's.
We successfully handed out 28 Home Safety kits (green gift bags) to families in Hasbro Children's as well as the Refugee Clinic. The gift bags contained a Safety 1st touchless forehead thermometer, a Safety 1st 46-piece child safety kit, and an assortment of safety topics handouts. The target age was toddler to age 5 for families that we visited. A giveaway of 6 smoke detectors was also conducted for participating families. A total of 3 individuals went from room to room. Well over 70 lives were touched by the gift bags We started at 9am and finished at 1130am We continued to partner with Hasbro Children's staff to make them aware of what the Injury Prevention Staff does on a daily basis, not just on NIPD. The measure of our success was the gratitude shown by parents when we handed them the gift bag.
