Program/Event Details:
At this year's NIPD table, 166 family members, patients and staff practiced role playing how to ask other's if they have a gun in the home and if so, how is it stored. Scenarios ranged from asking other parents before a child goes to their home for the first time, to teen's asking before babysitting at a new home, to asking older adults in your life. Additionally, 85 gun locks with instructions were given away, as well as a gun safety handout with information on how to have additional gun locks mailed to their homes for free. Handouts also included a How to Ask flyer, a Family Fire flyer, a Safety Stop flyer, and a Home Safety Checklist.
