Social Media Campaigns

Program/Event Details:
For National Injury Prevention Day, Pro Consumer Safety is highlighting and increasing social media awareness of the National Telehealth Car Seat Call Center. While the call center began early in 2018 during a longitudinal study to assess the efficacy of child passenger safety educational approaches, the virtual telehealth satisfied a need from parents who went into early delivery, were discharged from the hospital, and unable to find a CPST to assist them in a short amount of time. What makes the call center educational process effective is its application of behavioral skills training (BST), shown to improve learning and retention, and ultimately reduce misuse at 9 to 12 months.

The call center provides a benefit to also prevent the spread of infectious disease transmission to expectant parents while providing them with injury prevention services. It is also available to assist and direst parents with resources and answer child passenger safety questions.
