Mary Beth Vassy, MPH, CPST-I is a public health professional specializing in pediatric injury prevention and biostatistics. As the Pediatric Injury Prevention Coordinator at MUSC, she leads Safe Kids Charleston Area initiatives, trains Child Passenger Safety Technicians, teaches Stop the Bleed courses, and analyzes pediatric injury data to guide community safety efforts. She also serves on the Child Fatality Review Boards for Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties.
Mary Beth holds an MPH in Biostatistics from MUSC and a BS in Public Health from the College of Charleston. Her background includes research in birth defects, COVID-19 testing access, and seroprevalence analysis. A recognized leader within the Injury Free Coalition for Kids, she was named Program Coordinator of the Year in 2025.
