Trauma Education Coordinator/Injury Prevention Coordinator, Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Jacksonville

Rebecca Goldenberg is the new TraumaOne Education Coordinator at Shands Jacksonville. She received her BS in Sports Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, and currently is an active Auxiliary Paramedic for Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department. Along with injury prevention, her other responsibilities include coordinating courses for local and regional EMS and Fire agencies, providing medical assistance for the Regional Special Olympics Games/PGA Golf Tournaments/ local races (5k, 15k), hosting Bicycle Rodeo’s at various schools and safety fairs throughout TraumaOne’s region, and facilitating meet and greets between the public and staff of TraumaOne’s three helicopters. She is a staff educator for TraumaOne’s flight crew, a member of the Duval Traffic Safety Team, a Jacksonville EMS advisory council member, Florida Coast Technical College Public Safety Steering Committee Appointed Member, an AHA Instructor and Course Coordinator, and a NAEMT Instructor and Course Coordinator.

Rebecca aspired to work at a Level 1 Trauma center after first setting eyes on “Trauma, Life in the ER” back in 1997. She was given the opportunity in shine in 2009; since then she’s worked in various departments of Shands Jacksonville from Cardiac Critical Care down to the Adult/Peds ED’s and Trauma Center. In her present position, she is in constant contact with the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, Division of Acute Care Surgery. The collaboration of both the Division of Acute Care Surgery and TraumaOne has created a regional based educational and injury prevention team consisting of Trauma Surgeons, Flight Nurses and Flight Paramedics.
