Shoot With Cameras -- Not Guns ^SM

Childhood Injury Prevention Center (CIPC) of the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center

Developed by Alina Bueno, MPH, this program teaches children about photography and gives them an opportunity to photograph what they feel are the positive and negative aspects of their program. The children create a photojournal of their work, create role-plays of how to improve their community and then participate in a neighborhood improvement activity. Activities have included a neighborhood clean up and a mural. The children's photographs and photoessays are exhibited throughout the city.

The program has been replicated by Injury Free Philadelphia and has been featured on television and print media.
