Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Detroit and Metro Detroit SAFE KIDS work together to educate and create awareness in the Southwest Detroit community on child passenger safety. Child passenger seat checks are conducted throughout the community for installation education and safety seat inspection.

Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Detroit and the Trauma Related Injury Prevention program (TRIP) also work together in providing motor vehicle and bus safety classes in the community schools. The "Rock" and a Power Ranger both demonstrate the importance of wearing your seat belt. The children are asked to participate by acting as a police officer, paramedic and doctor. Children are allowed to watch the accident happen with a seat belt and without a seat belt, and give their own interpretation of the injuries sustained.
